Free Sexual & Reproductive Health Care for KIIT Students
KIIT University, through its medical unit KIMS, provides confidential sexual and reproductive health services free of cost to all students. Appointments with trained consultants are available upon request, with all consultations handled discreetly initial screening and information are provided within the campus, and specialist referrals are made when needed.
Students can book an appointment with the consultants available with Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (the medical unit of the University) and discuss any issues they are facing or avail any related information. These services are provided free of cost to the University students

Mental Health Care Services
KIIT University, supported by KIMS, offers free and confidential mental health care to all students & staffs:
- Counselling Cell: Free, confidential counselling for students, available both in-person and online via the SAP portal
- Clinical Services at KIMS: Psychiatry department offers OPD, emergency care, and specialized clinics (adolescent guidance, dementia, substance cessation) with therapies like CBT, psychotherapy, and ECT
- Capacity Building: Hostel staff trained in behavioral counselling to identify distress and provide timely support
- Awareness & Engagement: Regular programmes, talks, and campaigns such as World Mental Health Day and Suicide Prevention Day, along with student-led initiatives, promote mental well-being across campus

On 09.12.2024, KIIT School of Public Health organized RITAMH 2024, an international conference on mental health, uniting global experts from six countries and leading Indian institutions. The event spotlighted innovation, research, and technology in mental health care.

KINS Celebrates Human Rights Day 2024 with Focus on Rights and Mental Health
On 10.12.2024, Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences (KINS), KIIT-DU, celebrated Human Rights Day 2024 with Focus on Rights and Mental Health on theme “Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now.” Events included a spot painting contest, guest talk by law faculty, and a student role play, emphasizing human rights awareness and their significance in mental health care services.

Smoke-Free & Tobacco-Free Policy at KIIT University
- Universal Coverage: Applies to all students, staff, research scholars, and visitors across KIIT campuses—including KIMS and hostels
- Strict Prohibition: Smoking, use of tobacco, alcohol, narcotic drugs, or any related products is strictly forbidden anywhere on campus
- “No Smoking” signage installed campus-wide
- Violations are subject to disciplinary action under university conduct rules
- Awareness Initiatives: Regular programs conducted to educate the university community about the harmful effects of smoking

On 06.09.2024, YRC KIIT Leads Anti-Drug Rally Promoting a Drug-Free Life: Eighty YRC KIIT volunteers, led a spirited anti-drug rally from KIMS to KIIT Square. Through slogans and posters, they spread awareness on the dangers of drug abuse, encouraging healthier, addiction-free lifestyles among students and the community
