KIIT University ensures that it provides equal access to its educational resources and training to the general public without discriminating on the basis of caste, religion, gender, disability, ethnicity, immigration status, or any other factors as required.

‘Admission and employment in the Deemed to be University shall be open to all, regardless of race, religion, caste or creed, disability, immigration status and the area/ place of residence in the world’. Besides, clause 13.2 of MoA of the University also states that ‘All policies and procedures, in this regard as applicable to KIIT’.

KIIT University has established a Centre of Excellence for Sustainability and Equity to create awareness among its students, staff and general public about the needs and importance of sustainable development goals, its importance and impact on the progress of our nation. This Center of Excellence is working on gathering, measuring and analyzing data related to different sustainable development goals both at national level and international through its collaborations, partners, NGOs, surveys and research activities. It is also working towards more collaborations at national and international level, NGOs and corporate to frame policies and decide on plan of action to meet the goals. The following committee has been set up to review the progress made by the Center of Excellence and provide necessary advice.

To empower the individuals through improved skills, knowledge, nationally and internationally recognized qualifications to gain access to decent employment/ entrepreneurship and ensure competitiveness in the global market.

KSAS will conduct the skill based training programme for the unemployed youth of the Universities, Schools and Colleges in the State and beyond. At this juncture specific areas have been identified for skill based training programme.

Stipends :-

  • Doctor of Medicine, Master of Surgery, and Master of Dental Surgery are Rs. 49,000, 51,000 and 53,000 INR for 1st, 2nd and 3rd year respectively for each month.
  • Magister Chirugial/Doctorate of Medicine is 58,000 INR per month.
  • MBBS and BDS internships is 20,000 INR per month.
  • Sc in Nursing and General Nursing and Midwifery (Nursing) is 6,000 INR per month.

IBM Center of Excellence : Working towards development of software solutions related to student projects, and conducting training programs for students of the region for providing hands on trainings related to coding required in the IT industry thereby augmenting their employability.

SAP Center of Excellence: Automation of University tasks , collection and analysis of data related to Finance , material management, human resource and student lifecycle as a part of University innovation; providing training on Business Integration and ABAP (open to all) to create awareness and impart skills on automations performed through SAP. This is again expected to augment the employability skills of the participants leading to reduced inequality.

IoT Center of Excellence : Application of IoT in integration of data and services that will lead to sustainable cities and infrastructure development; training provided to students (open to all) impart basic fundamentals of IoT with capstone projects.

NI Center of Excellence: Training to students on the basic and advanced knowledge of National Instruments’ LabVIEW software and peripheral systems to carry out quality projects in cutting edge areas in industry.

Tech Mahindra Design Laboratory: Advanced training on automobile technology and projects for students and researchers.

Siemens Laboratory:The objective of this Center of Excellence is to impart project based training of PLM software tools for cutting edge technology enabled students.

Schneider Lab: Focuses on automation system and smart energy management. This lab also gives a platform to have hands on experiences on emerging technologies and build skills of real world among students and researchers.

Center of Excellence for Rare Earth Materials: Advanced research on the properties of rare earth materials available particularly in the state of Odisha, study of their characteristics and their potential use in industrial applications.

Center of Excellence for Automotive Mechatronics: Provides advanced diploma in advanced mechatronics creating skilled technicians for the automobile industry.

Bosch Center of Excellence: Advanced research on robotics and automation of jobs are being carried out.

Technology Enabling Center: Capacity building for engineering / medicine & science students (of Odisha) to build innovative projects leading to new product & process development, IP & Tech transfer activities.

Technology Transfer Office: Building Capacity of East & Northeast regions bio-incubators and biotech institutions of India including AMTZ, Visakhapatnam on IP & Tech transfer activities.

The objective of this policy is to ensure that all transport activities are managed effectively to ensure compliance with the Government’s statutory policies and KIIT Deemed University’s transport procedures and regulations.

Official Trips: These are trips organized and funded by the University for carrying out official works. Fuel and driver is provided by the University.

Unofficial Trips: Vehicles are used by any outside department/institutions or staff members for other than official purpose of KIIT Deemed University. Driver and vehicles are provided subject to the approval of the Competent Authority. In any unofficial trip, all the expenditure will be borne by the user.

KIIT Poverty-Cum-Merit Scholarship:

Every year two poor and meritorious students are provided completely free education under this scholarship scheme. The scholarship covers college fees, hostel fees including mess, books and any other ancillary expenses. The decision of the selection committee regarding the selection of the candidate will be final.

A sister Institute of KIIT specially for rural, tribal students, Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), Bhubaneswar, India (URL: https://kiss.ac.in/about/) is a fully free, fully residential home for 30000 poor indigenous/tribal children who are provided holistic education from kindergarten to post graduation along with lodging, boarding, health care facilities besides vocational, life skills empowerment. KISS plans to educate 2,00,000 indigenous (tribal) children over the next decade through the process of setting up branches in 10 states, with the support of respective state governments and in all 30 districts of Odisha. KISS students are high achievers in academics, co-curricular activities and national and international sports, making it a highly successful model of tribal empowerment through education. KISS has so far set up centers in Delhi, Mayurbhanj, Balasore are currently functioning.

Academic freedom refers to the ambience, platforms or opportunities provided by the University allowing faculty members to engage in teaching, research, and related endeavors at higher educational institutions.

The University provides research freedom to senior as well as junior academician as per their choice and expertise. The University encourages the multidisciplinary research among various Schools. Any senior/junior academicians can carry out research works as per their wishes with collaborating with other institutions or industries.
