The KIIT Deemed to be University’s highest governing body has elected representation from all its stakeholders like students, faculty, alumni and staff (non-faculty employees) etc.
The governing bodies of KIIT Deemed to be University play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the institution’s operations, policies, and strategic direction. These governing bodies’ specific composition and functions can vary from one university to another, but some common roles and responsibilities are associated with them. Governing bodies typically consist of Vice-Chancellor-Chairman, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Deans, Eminent Academicians, Industry personnel, Nominee of the Sponsoring Society, Students, Registrar – Secretary, Alumni and Representative of the Central Government.
Board of Management
Board of management is the highest Governing Body in the University. The elected members from the stakeholders have representation in the Board of management. The composition of the body is as follows.
- Vice-Chancellor-Chairman
- Pro Vice Chancellor
- Deans of Faculties not exceeding two (by rotation and seniority)
- Eminent Academicians/ Industry personnel nominated by the Chancellor
- Three faculty members (from Professors, Associate Professors) by rotation based on Seniority.
- Nominee of the Sponsoring Society
- Registrar – Secretary

Academic Council
Academic council is the highest Academic Body in the University. The composition of this council is as follows.
- Vice Chancellor – Chairman
- Pro Vice Chancellor
- Deans / Directors of Faculties/ Schools
- Heads of various departments
- Ten Professors other than the Heads of the School by rotation of seniority.
- Three Associate Professors from the Departments other than the Heads of the Schools by rotation of seniority.
- Three Assistant Professors from the Departments by rotation of seniority.
- Persons amongst educationists of repute or persons from any other field related to activities of the University who are not in the service of the University, nominated by the Vice Chancellor
- Persons who are not members of the teaching staff co-opted by the Academic Council for the specialize knowledge
- Two Alumni- invited guests

Apart from this, there are some other Governing Bodies are also formed to regulate the academic as well as non-academic activities of the University.
1. Board of studies
Board of studies (BOS) for each School/Department looks into the academic aspects, developments, updates and revisions in curriculum for different programs offered by the School/Department. This committee is composed of experienced internal faculty members and external members who are the stakeholders for the School. There are representatives from other academic institutions of repute, representatives from the industry, alumni and parent. External members are from academia and industry.

2. Internal Quality Assurance Cell
The University has Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) which monitors and assures the quality of teaching and learning of different academic programs, curriculum design, research methodology etc. It is composed of internal senior members and external stakeholders.
