KIIT University’s commitment to ‘Education for All‘ is evident through its provision of free courses leading to certificates or awards for non-enrolled individuals. These courses span various subjects, promoting lifelong learning and skill development, irrespective of one’s affiliation with the University.
Under the flagship scheme “Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY)” of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), KIIT University promotes skill development in the country by providing free short duration skill training and incentivizing this by providing monetary rewards to youth for skill certification.

Free Access to Campus Facilities and Equipment
KIIT University extends the privilege of free access to its campus facilities and cutting-edge equipment to individuals not enrolled in the institution. This inclusivity reflects it’s dedication to community enrichment and the promotion of knowledge and innovation, fostering a spirit of learning beyond it’s student body.
The University laboratories, Center of Excellence. KIIT-Technology Business Incubator and Central Research Facilities are freely provided to general public such as Researchers, Academicians, Students, Industry Persons for research or Learning activities on request basis.The application form for availing the various facilities is available online at https://kiit.ac.in/lab-access/
Central Research Facilities (CRF) has been set up with 1 lakh sqm built up area at Campus-3, KIIT University, offers free access to modern scientific research facilities to the inhouse researchers as well as research community from other research laboratories, academic institutions and industries. The instruments in CRF are managed by professionally trained personnel and run to the proper scientific standards. The University provides technical support to the users so that the best results can be obtained. The intended users are provided with an user-friendly online registration process to book their time slots for utilization of different instruments/resources. During the year of 2023, more than 3,500 general public benefited by using Central Research Facilities.
During the year of 2023, more than 17510+ general public benefited by utilizing University Laboratories, Center of Excellence, KIIT-Technology Business Incubator (TBI) and more than 3500+ general public benefited by utilizing Central Research Facility.

National Seminar on Library Science in KIIT
Experts from the field of library science converged at the KIIT Deemed-to-be-University-organised seminar here on Sunday to discuss thread-bare the open source movement. Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Sasmita Samanta emphasised the introduction of information analytics and data science into the syllabus to expand and broaden the opportunities for students of library science.
Addressing the seminar titled “Open Source Movement: What Next”, Prof. Samanta favoured increased use of modern-day technology such as AI and data science to give a fresh impetus to the library movement. She said the KIIT Central library embodies the best of library science and reflects the global perspective.
I am attending this event with people who are committed to protecting, preserving and disseminating knowledge. You are key stakeholders acting as a bridge between the generations, she said welcoming the library scientists.
The seminar aims to provide useful information on open source software, journals and databases among library professionals to help the researchers and teachers openly and freely to carry out research without any monetary investment, said Director of the KIIT Central Library Bijayalaxmi Rautaray.
She praised the efforts of the Founder of KIIT and KISS Dr. Achyuta Samanta for not only creating a world-class library but also being a great source of inspiration for the growth of library professionals to support teaching and research.
The speakers at the seminar spoke eloquently about the KIIT Central Library, commending it for its infrastructure and its objectives.
We don’t have our future without a library. KIIT is an institution which believes that despite the overwhelming dominance of electronics in every field, the libraries movement should go on unhindered,” said the HoD of PG Dept of Library Science at Sambalpur University Prof. Bulu Maharana. A library is a great place to innovate, think and collaborate, he underscored.
Prof. Partha Sarathi Mukhopadhyay of the University of Kalyani, Prof. Bhaskar Mukherjee, Banaras of Hindu University and Dr. Akhtar Parvez of Maulana Azad National Urdu University addressed different dimensions of the open access movement. Around 500 participants from different parts of the county participated in the national seminar.

KIIT Declares Educational Support to Students of Kasturba Gandhi National Memorial Trust of Salipur
Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) hasextended educational assistance to the students of Kasturba Gandhi National Memorial Trust, Satyabhamapur, Salipur of Cuttack district. Earlier on the occasion of International Art of Giving Day on May 17, KIIT & KISS Founder Dr. Achyuta Samanta visited the Kasturba Trust. Dr. Samanta had promised to provide higher education to the students of the Trust in KIIT free of cost. Today, on the first day of Raja, Dr. Samanta visited the Trust and celebrated Raja with the students here. He distributed fruits and new clothes, taken with him from Bhubaneswar, to the students. Dr. Samanta garlanded the statue of Madhubabu in the premises of the trust and participated in a special program organized by the trust. As per the promise, Dr. Samanta announced names of 3 matriculated students from the trust for admission in KIIT Polytechnic. These students will study diploma courses at KIIT. All expenses for their studies will be borne by KIIT. Dr. Samanta said that the KIIT will also provide necessary support for study if needed in future. The program was attended by many dignitaries including Mr. Prashant Behera, MLA, Kasturba Gandhi National Memorial Trust Secretary Sandhyarani Mallik among others. Such initiative by the KIIT authorities has been widely appreciated in the local area.
Adoption of Local Schools and Colleges
KIIT University supports local schools and colleges by offering financial assistance, enhancing academic infrastructure, and improving facilities such as libraries, sanitation, and recreation areas for students. Faculty members contribute by training teachers in content delivery, public speaking,and counselling students and parents to help reduce dropout rates. Additionally, faculty and senior students conduct voluntary teaching sessions with special learning activities at various schools once or twice a month.
The university organizes monthly awareness camps focusing on education, health, and hygiene in selected areas. It also runs special vocational and skill development programs for high school students from disadvantaged communities to help secure their future livelihoods. A community engagement cell manages these initiatives, which are implemented on both an ad-hoc and planned basis.
Moreover, KIIT has adopted several primary schools in rural regions, where university students offer intellectual support, and the university provides organizational, infrastructural, and financial assistance. “Kirti Kalpa- The KIIT Art Gallery”, a place where history, art, and culture come to life. KIIT public museum is a repository of human knowledge and creativity, dedicated to preserving the past and inspiring the future.
- It’s a Contemporary Art Gallery which consists of Paintings, Abstract painting, Granite Stone Sculptures, Wooden Sculptures, Art Installations, Artifacts, Tribal Artifacts, Ceramic Sculptures etc.
- The Timing of this art gallery is from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM everyday excluding Sunday of each month and public holiday.
- This Art Gallery is open for the public to visit and spend their time observing the soothing effects of the Art works .

KSOM Professors Launch MOOC Course on SWAYAM Platform
Prof. Rabi N. Subudhi, Senior Professor, KIIT School of Management, and Prof. Sumita Mishra, Dean, KIIT School of Management, launched a MOOC Course titled “Quantitative and Mixed Method Research” on the SWAYAM Platform, an initiative by the Government of India, coordinated by IIM Bangalore’s SWAYAM Centre. Prof. Rabi N. Subudhi, Senior Professor, KIIT School of Management, and Prof. Sumita Mishra, Dean, KIIT School of Management, launched a MOOC Course titled “Quantitative and Mixed Method Research” on the SWAYAM Platform, an initiative by the Government of India, coordinated by IIM Bangalore’s SWAYAM Centre.
SWAYAM is the largest online MOOC platform offering numerous courses across diverse disciplines. The “Quantitative and Mixed Method Research” course spans 8 weeks and is of 2 credits. Upon successful completion of all evaluated components, participants will receive a certificate jointly issued by SWAYAM and KIIT-DU.
