KIIT University’s commitment to ‘Education for All‘ is evident through its provision of free courses leading to certificates or awards for non-enrolled individuals. These courses span various subjects, promoting lifelong learning and skill development, irrespective of one’s affiliation with the University.

The University laboratories, Center of Excellence. KIIT-Technology Business Incubator and Central Research Facilities are freely provided to general public such as Researchers, Academicians, Students, Industry Persons for research or Learning activities on request basis.The application form for availing  the various facilities is available online at https://kiit.ac.in/lab-access/

Central Research Facilities (CRF) has been set up with 1 lakh sqm built up area at Campus-3, KIIT University, offers free access to modern scientific research facilities to the inhouse researchers as well as research community from other research laboratories, academic institutions and industries. The instruments in CRF are managed by professionally trained personnel and run to the proper scientific standards. The University provides technical support to the users so that the best results can be obtained. The intended users are provided with an user-friendly online registration process to book their time slots for utilization of different instruments/resources. During the year of 2022, more than 3,500 general public benefited by using Central Research Facilities.

Vigyan Sarvatra Pujyate: Weeklong Science Festival at KIIT

As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration, the ‘Amrit Mahotsav Science Showcase: Roadmap to 2047’ science exhibition was inaugurated at KiiT International School on February 22, 2022. The weeklong exhibition is jointly organized by DRDO, ITR, NIF, IMMT, STD (Govt. of Odisha), ORSAC, Odisha Bigyan Academy, IMA, and KIIT-TBI. The inauguration was graced by Mr. M. K. Mishra, Secretary of E&IT and Science & Technology, Govt. of Odisha; Dr. P. K. Mallick, Addl. PCCF & Chief Executive, ORSAC; Mr. K. Srinivasan, Regional Officer, CBSE, Bhubaneswar; and Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT & KISS. The event is part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative and aims to showcase scientific achievements, advancements, and innovations while looking forward to India’s progress in the year 2047. 

Models of various missiles – Agni, Akash, Prithvi, Brahmos, Astra, Nag, etc. – and armament systems (MBT Arjun Tank, Artillery Gun) are on display at the exhibition. The students and teachers from different schools in Bhubaneswar participated and interacted with about 20 grass-root scientists who have been felicitated by the National Innovation Foundation for their uniqueness. About 1200 delegates have registered for the event.

This is the age of science, knowledge and exposure, said Dr. Samanta at the inaugural ceremony. In the early days students only were dependent on books for knowledge, but now due to advancement in science all are getting exposure, he stated. We are progressing with the help of science and technology, which has also been enabling us to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic worldwide in the last two years, he added.

The School of Applied Sciences (SAS), KIIT Deemed to be University in association with Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), Bhubaneswar Chapter, organized an outreach programme for BSc. 3rd year students of P N College, Khurda & Sailabala Women’s College, Cuttack in the campus on 13th April 2022. Around 170 students along with their teachers visited the UG/PG/Research labs of the school, Central Research Facility (CRF) and the Central Library of the university. The visit was followed by an interactive session with the students and the accompanying faculty members. During this interactive session, Dr. Kajal Parashar, Convener of ISCA emphasized mutual collaboration and deeper engagement with the colleges for pursuit of science. Prof. Prasanta Rath, Dean (SAS) gave an overview of the School highlighting its strengths and achievements.  Prof. P. K. Das shared his personal experience and emphasized how a university like KIIT has developed world-class infrastructure that is as good as anywhere else in the world. Dr. Dibyaranjan Rout, Head, PG program highlighted the uniqueness of the MSc program offered by the School and encouraged the students to apply. Dr. Gopal  K. Pradhan, Prof. P. K. Das, Dr. S. Praharaj and Dr. D. Rout addressed various questions raised by the students about the program. The faculty members from the participating colleges shared their experience about the program and expressed, they were overwhelmed to see the research facilities, infrastructure and beauty of the campus. The overall program was coordinated by Dr.  Jatin Sinha, Dr. Gopal K. Pradhan, Dr. Dibyaranjan Rout, Dr. Kajal Parashar, Dr. Tapan Bastia, Dr. Satya Ranjan Mishra with active support from Prof. Prasanta Rath, Dean SAS.

KIIT School Of Electrical Engineering Organizes Hands-On Practice On Energy System

In August 2022, the School of Electrical Engineering at KIIT Deemed to be University hosted a hands-on “Energy System” practice for student-delegates from Reva University as part of a student exchange program. Dr. S.C. Swain, a Professor at the School of Electrical Engineering and Joint Director of the Skill Project, led the program. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Satyaranjan Jena, FIC Energy System Lab, Dr. Ritesh Dash, Associate Professor, and Faculty Mentor from Reva University, along with faculty members and staff from KIIT School of Electrical Engineering. This initiative fostered collaborative learning and knowledge exchange between the two institutions.

“KIIT Public Library” for the general public to share the knowledge in various fields along with Spirituality, Competitive, Arts, Science, General knowledge, Language, Commerce and Management. It is open to local students form schools, colleges, institutions and local community people.

The University now enjoys an unsurpassed reputation in academia and corporate circles as a preferred talent source and as a world-class learning campuses. The University offers a number of online courses those are easily accessible for the benefit of the whole student fraternity worldwide. Those works in profession : Academic/Researches/Industry or Students/Courses Dropout Students can enrol in these courses for their own professional growth. Public Museum

“Kirti Kalpa- The KIIT Art Gallery”, a place where history, art, and culture come to life. KIIT public museum is a repository of human knowledge and creativity, dedicated to preserving the past and inspiring the future.

  • It’s a Contemporary Art Gallery which consists of Paintings, Abstract painting, Granite Stone Sculptures, Wooden Sculptures, Art Installations, Artifacts, Tribal Artifacts, Ceramic Sculptures etc.
  • The Timing of this art gallery is from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM everyday excluding Sunday of each month and public holiday.
  • This Art Gallery is open for the public to visit and spend their time observing the soothing effects of the Art works .

Magazine and News Paper Lounge Facility

The University also has its own magazine lounge called “KEN”. The magazine lounge, one of its kind, has rich collection of national and international magazines. The students, staff and the general public have the opportunity of reading magazines from around the world. Magazines cover a wide range of literature genres- social, sports, fashion, health, financial, political, geographical, besides women, and life style magazines. KIITX-provide an affordable and flexible  way to learn new skills, advance career and deliver quality educational  experiences at scale. The courses include Internet of things, robotics, learning  process and genetic engineering. More such sources are coming up very  shortly. Freely courses are like “ Thin Flim Technology”, “Semiconductor Technology” etc.

KIIT School of Management offers programmed MOOC course on “Quantitative and Mixed Method Research”. It is a 2 credit and 8 week course. On completion of all evaluation components, participants will receive a certificate from Swayam (GoI) in collaboration with KIIT University. Swayam is a program initiated by the Govt of India.
