University provides free access to educational resources for those not studying at the University in various ways. The University has the slogan as ‘Education for all’ since its inception. Also University organizes and hosts a multitude of events encompassing public lectures, community development programs, skill development workshops, awareness drives, educational events etc. throughout the year all of which are open to general public as a part of its policy towards ‘Educational for all’.

Free access to conferences/ seminars/ Lecture series/ Guest Talks etc. are provided to the general public. Access to conferences/ seminars/Lecture series/ Guest Talks/Webinar/ Educational Activities through various societies etc are provided to the public irrespective of gender, ethnicity, disability etc. KIIT DU has a variety of live and on-demand webinars available to help institutions adapt their curriculums and research strategies to support distance learning and remote work environments.
Open Day Visit
Open day visit was conducted on second Saturday of the month on pre-appointment basis to propagate the message of ‘Education for all’ among the school/college students/teachers/ researchers to give them the exposure to the higher education system of the University.

Free access to sports facilities of the University to General Public
In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, education should result in physical, psychological and spiritual development of children. Indeed, education and sports are complementary. KIIT has been according a high importance to sports since its inception. Even though it is not an institution exclusively for sports, all ultramodern sports facility and training, at par with any national level sports hostel or sports training centre, are provided here.
Tech-skill based training Programmes
The University has established a community engagement cell to promote tech-skill based training programme for the public. Tech-skill based training modules including tailor made tech solutions, courses and modules with focus on advertising, branding, product market knowledge, e-channels, knowledge about online platforms , hands-on training on use of online platform like Amazon etc for selling products have been imparted through the Community Engagement Cell.
Skill Development programmes
The University’s School of Advanced Skills administers the skill-based training programmes. It offers training via the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) scheme (under the Ministry of Rural Development) and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) in order to support the skill development push (under Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship).
Adoption of Local Schools
The University has adopted several Schools where it provides financial support, development of academic infrastructure, libraries, proper sanitation and recreation facilities to the students of the area. The University provides help with content delivery design, training the teachers to use the technology to give audio visual experience to students, knowledge on online learning, training the teachers in soft skills and teaching methodology, providing exposure to students and teachers to International and National Conferences/ programmes organised in the University.
Adoption of Villages and Panchayat
In the case of Rural Development, the University has tremendous contribution since its inception. It has started converting remote villages into smart villages. It has adopted 10 local villages to develop them as model and smart villages, where students are being taught by the University faculties from time to time.
Educational for All Summit
The University had organized the Education Summit on the theme “Education for All” in all districts of Odisha and 30 major cities and state capitals of the country to motivate the youth and build up their confidence for joining higher education.
Activities by students under NSS/NCC/YRC
Students and faculty members have been participating in National Service Scheme (NSS), National Cadet Corps (NCC), Youth Red Cross (YRC) activities through social awareness campaigns, Street plays on social issues, blood donation camps, cycle rallies and training the underprivileged children etc.
