Our Projects on SDG 10

Outcomes of 2023

The Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology-Technology Business Incubator (KIIT-TBI) has launched a microenterprise program to empower rural communities by creating Women Tech Parks (WTPs) with aim: Promoting Inclusive Growth, Tailored Products and Services, Improving Access to Basic Goods and Services, Recruiting Local Community Members. These parks provide technological solutions for alternative livelihoods in Millet Noodle Production, LED Bulb Manufacturing, Pickle Production and Sweet Potato Value-Added Products. Before WTP interventions, most beneficiaries relied on millet and rice farming or wage labor, with 88.83% below the poverty line (BPL). Traditional occupations offered insufficient income, but the WTP program has boosted development and reduced poverty. Livelihood support now reaches households through millet farming (51.94%), potato-based products (17.85%), LED manufacturing (10.47%), and smaller percentages from poultry, forest-based activities, small businesses, fisheries, handicrafts, and other sources.
